SEA SPRAY AND WOODLAND GLADES

by WRITERS FROM THE NORTH COAST OF IRELAND

Welcome Readers to this third and last of the Anthologies garnered from Writers along the North Coast of Northern Ireland. There is much here which is familiar … and other features which are different. From these Anthologies you have come to expect a high standard of penmanship and a wide breath of content. The main difference is that there is now an augmented pool of contributing talent. Members of three different writing Groups are involved. We have entries from Pen and Paper (the u3a core Group of Writers featured in the first two Anthologies) as well as submissions from Sanderlings and Words Inc. Sanderlings is an independent writing Group which meets weekly in Portstewart, Northern Ireland. Words Inc is a Group run by Libraries NI in Coleraine, a few miles from Portstewart. Such a wealth of creativity is delivered to you here! A wide array of topics is covered. Once more the familiar - surf and turf, birds and bees, family and friends, the sharing of life experiences and places visited. However, in this Anthology there are also numerous responses to Stimuli given in writing classes. We find prose and poems inspired by the works of well-known writers as well as pieces which have evolved from reactions to visual images. We follow intricate dialogues and the outlines of dramatically formatted shapes. All of these demonstrate the continuing courage of these Writers from the North Coast of Ireland to challenge themselves and try new styles and techniques. So please laugh or sigh, remember or smile as you read, but above all, let these many voices touch you with their originality and authenticity. ~ from us to you ~
